Power accumulated by doing Research can never be taken away.
You lose Construction Power if you Demolish a building.
Hero Power decreases if your Hero is eliminated. Using a Hero Resurrection to resuscitate them will save all Power and all Hero XP (otherwise lost).
Troop Power decreases if your units are killed, wounded or dimissed, or when your traps are destroyed.
